AN INNOVATIVE COMPANY: Leigh Fisheries NZ is an innovative company based in Leigh, a small village in Cape Rodney on the north island of New Zealand. Combining more than 50 years of fishing experience with extensive knowledge, Leigh Fisheries NZ is able to achieve a total commitment to quality. An excellent standard of pure quality is guarenteed by the tools and the technology utalized. The company is the largest employer in the village, but unlike most other fishing companies, Leigh Fisheries does not own any boats. Instead, it has independent boats fishing for them: 30 boats are registered in the port of Leigh and 70 longline vessels are registered in other ports of the North Island. 60 employees fish on these 30 boats, with two people on each boat. About 30 people work operationally at «Lee Fish», filleting, sorting and packing the fish.
